Jakarta, March 17th, 2023 - As a part of its commitment to empowering MSME players, PT Kimia Farma Tbk ("KAEF") invited its fostered MSMEs to the UMKM Academy 3.0 Graduation program at the Kimia Farma Head Office in Central Jakarta. This event is the culmination of a series of  UMKM Academy activities that have been held since November 2022. The event was attended by Director of Human Resources Dharma Syahputra, Director of Product Portfolio and Services Jasmine Karsono, and Middle State Corporate Governance, Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Advisor of the Ministry of SOEs Teddy Poernama.

Through this activity, Kimia Farma provides empowerment and mentoring of MSMEs that focuses on efforts to increase competitiveness by approaching the managerial aspects of MSMEs, which are carried out intensively and continuously, by actively involving professional mentors so that they are increasingly developed and independent.

Dharma Syahputra said that this is the third UMKM Academy that Kimia Farma has held. Unlike the previous year, this year Kimia Farma divides MSMEs into 2 levels, namely the basic level and the intermediate level, which are seen in the aspects of digitalization and brand identity.

"MSME owners receive business incubation training for 4 months accompanied by mentors and coaches who are experts in their fields. Digitalization and brand identity aspects are the basis for categorizing the MSME level. This is a supporting factor to expand the market share of MSMEs," said Dharma.

Teddy Poernama as the Madya State Company Manager, Middle State Corporate Governance, Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) of the Ministry of SOEs said that he would always encourage MSMEs to continue to develop with various coaching programs, so that later they could compete nationally and internationally with products from abroad.

"Kimia Farma's UMKM Academy 3.0 is the role of SOEs in improving the quality of MSME players. Graduation of UMKM Academy 3.0 will provide opportunities for MSMEs assisted by Kimia Farma to be able to enter the supply chain of SOEs, especially Kimia Farma through the Creating Shared Value (CSV) approach," said Teddy.

Many assisted MSME participants gained knowledge and experience after attending the UMKM Academy. Mayang Adelia, owner of Fragrande Kreasi Alami became the best participant in the UMKM Academy and conveyed the benefits of participating in this program.
