Jakarta, April 24, 2026 – PT Kimia Farma Diagnostika (KFD) strengthened its commitment to supporting national health programs through a strategic collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI). This collaboration was realized through a tuberculosis (TB) tracing simulation using portable X-ray technology for 300 community members, held at the Cilincing TB Village, North Jakarta, as part of the FKUI Community Service program.
According to data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Indonesia remains one of the countries with the highest tuberculosis caseload in the world, with an estimated hundreds of thousands of new cases annually. 1 The Deputy Minister of Health stated at the Coordination and Strengthening Meeting on Tuberculosis Program Implementation (April 23) that TB remains a major public health challenge, both globally and nationally, requiring extraordinary efforts and cross-sector collaboration to address it.
As part of the national health ecosystem with a network of clinics and laboratories spread throughout Indonesia, KFD felt compelled to participate in this collaborative effort. In this activity, KFD plays an active role in the TB tracing process through the use of portable X-rays equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, enabling a faster, more accurate, and more efficient screening process. This approach is expected to strengthen the early detection system and support the acceleration of TB control in Indonesia.
The President Director of PT Kimia Farma Diagnostika, Arie Genipa Suhendi, stated, "Collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia (FKUI) is a strategic step for Kimia Farma Diagnostika to provide more precise, easily accessible diagnostic services that have a direct impact on early detection and comprehensive TB management efforts," he said. Through Kimia Farma's extensive laboratory service network, KFD is committed to continuously supporting the national health agenda through service innovation, network strengthening, and partnerships oriented towards the wider community, as well as being part of the solution to realizing a healthy Indonesia.
