SIGNING OF MOU WITH ASTRAZENECA INDONESIA

In the middle of the Indonesia Sustainability Forum, which is part of a series of ASEAN Summit activities this week, AstraZeneca Indonesia and PT Kimia Farma Tbk officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU is a form of joint commitment and follow-up to the Sustainability Pledge which is supported by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. This aims to encourage sustainable development of the health sector and a form of concrete action by the two companies in overcoming the urgent challenges caused by climate change and biodiversity loss.

The MoU signing procession between AstraZeneca and Kimia Farma was witnessed by Lucia Rizka Andalucia, Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. "The government and the private sector cannot work alone because climate change and loss of biodiversity is a global crisis and all parties need to work together well, as we are facing the COVID-19 pandemic," explained Rizka.

Furthermore, Rizka added, "I hope that other organizations and companies in the health sector can imitate the steps taken today. I am sure that a commitment to maintaining biodiversity can create a healthy environment for our future generations on this earth."

AstraZeneca and Kimia Farma signed this MoU as a concrete manifestation of supporting the Health Sustainability Pledge which was initiated at the Indonesia Sustainability Forum. "We appreciate Kimia Farma's commitment which has just signed the Sustainability Pledge for sustainable transformation of the health sector by joining AstraZeneca in the journey towards zero carbon by signing two MoUs today," said Se Whan Chon, President Director, AstraZeneca Indonesia at the AstraZeneca Thematic Session. at the Indonesia Sustainability Forum 2023 in Jakarta, Thursday (7/9).

"Through this MoU, I appreciate the aim of AstraZeneca Indonesia and Kimia Farma to support health practitioners with the knowledge they need so they can improve first-level health services. "The collaboration between the two parties is a reflection of the spirit of cooperation, innovation and sustainability which is very necessary for the transformation of the health sector," said David Utama, President Director of PT Kimia Farma Tbk.
